Quality Control

Our commitment to quality begins in the field and continues through every stage of production. With rigorous quality control protocols in place, our expert team oversees harvesting, wet milling, sun drying, and grading to ensure each process meets strict export standards. Daily evaluations and cupping sessions allow us to assess flavour and aroma profiles, ensuring only the finest lots align with buyer preferences. This meticulous attention to detail guarantees that every bean delivers the superior cup quality our estate is known for.

Processing Methods

At Burka Coffee Estates, quality begins with careful handpicking of only the ripest red cherries. Within eight hours, the cherries are pulped and fermented for 24–36 hours, with a mid-wash to refine flavour. Beans are thoroughly washed, graded by density, and sun-dried for up to 21 days to develop their unique character. Once dried, the parchment is conditioned to an optimal 10.5% moisture content, ensuring consistency and excellence in every batch.
